Spice It Up

If you are moving into a new home and setting up your kitchen, or maybe it’s just time to clean out and reorganize, remember…

The “right” way to set up a kitchen is to make it functional for YOU and how you use it.

When tackling the spices the two things to key factors are access & visibility so that you can get what you need when you need it. One of the best things we can recommend is investing in uniform containers. This isn’t always required, but will be a huge help if you want to take your spice storage to the next level.

We’ve listed some of our favorite storage options below. The links below are amazon affiliate links.

In the Drawer

This allows for both easy access and clear visibility of all the labels. If you cook at home a lot, try moving your spices to a drawer near your oven or preparation space. Adding a tiered drawer divider or liner can help keep everything in its place, and is a visual bonus as well!

When drawer space isn’t an option, keeping spices organized in the cabinet is great too.

This lazy suzan allows you to have access to all your spices with clear visibility without digging through the back of the cabinet. We like this one with the option for taller bottles in the center.

Spicy shelf

If the cabinet is full, trying door or wall mounted racks is a good option too. These acrylic racks are clear, which we love for visibility. Having uniform square bottles not only is nice aesthetically, but makes putting spices away less of a puzzle, and you can always see the label

The spicy shelf is great if you have the entire cabinet shelf to use. This is a great option because it’s expandable design makes this set up possible in any cabinet.

If you have plenty of countertop space, and want to use the spices both functionally, and as a pop of color in the kitchen, we love these ideas.

Keep your Options Open

This option could be a great starting place if you’re not sure where you want the spices to live. The flexible design allows for countertop, cabinet, and mounted cabinet door options.
