The All-Purpose Cart

One of the most common questions we get is: “Do I need to buy bins or storage containers?” and it’s a fair question. Nine times out of ten, people already have great storage options that just need some rearranging, or more frequently, they need to get rid of some junk to free up those containers.

However, storage bins are one of those things that can always be useful. If you don’t need them for this project, then you can use them for the next one. Same is true for what we call “The All-Purpose Cart.”

We’ve seen this little guy pop up in many of our client’s homes and have loved seeing just how many ways there are to use this storage system in homes.

This is a great tool because it’s so versatile and can always be repurposed if you decide to change it up— not to mention it rolls!

Here’s some ways this 3 tiered cart could help out in your home:

For the Kids

  1. Nursing or contact napping with a little new one? Fill this cart will all those supplies for the baby, and snacks for you! The TV remote, kindle, blanket, drink, whatever you need for those hours spent in one place.

  2. Want the kids to have an art space? This is perfect for coloring books, pencils, markers, and can be rolled away from the table for storage when art time is over.

  3. Snack time! Keep the kid-friendly snacks accessible for those summer days when you need a break.

For the house

  1. Make it a rolling bar stand! This way the party can go wherever you need it to!

  2. Cleaning Dolly. If you’re like me, on chore day you never know what you need, so it’s better to have all the supplies handy as you tidy. Set all your cleaning supplies on the cart and roll through the house with quick access to what you need.

  3. If you have the space and need a place to set out extra toilet paper, hand towels, air freshener or a magazine or two, this cart can handle it all.

Just for you

PC: Sara Busby

  1. Bedside table. If you’ve ever made a mess of your bedside table in a rush to silence your morning alarm, using the cart as a bedside table might be worth a try. The raised sides of the shelves allow to keep everything IN (and off the floor) while still seeing what you need.

  2. Craft container. There are SO many ways this can be used for crafts. Storing current projects, keeping all supplies together like knitting, or paints or sewing supplies, just to name a few.

  3. Work out station. The era of home workouts has been wonderful for those of us that don’t always make it to the gym, but that means keeping some equipment at home. Place your small weights, resistance bands, yoga blocks, and water bottle on the cart. This way that equipment isn’t “out of sight out of mind” but is still out of the way, and stored in a visually appealing way.

The possibilities for this cart are almost limitless! Interested in giving it a shot? They are available in a variety of colors and designs on Amazon or you can pick one up at Lowes or Home Depot. This one even comes with dividers.

Have what you need, but don’t know where to get started? We’d be happy to help you reclaim your space.
